WILDERNESS USAWA CAMP

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Explore

The Serengeti is perhaps the most famous African wilderness area, its name synonymous with the notion of safari for nearly a hundred years. This UNESCO World Heritage site covers 14,750 km2 (5,700 mi2) of premiere game viewing in Acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and undulating savannahs interspersed with seasonal rivers. Stretching all the way to Lake Victoria, the Western Corridor is characterized by the quintessential safari landscape — open plains dotted with the occasional tree, although there are also beautiful riverine woodlands and some thicker bush areas. There is a good population of cats and general game all year round. A unique offering on the Serengeti plains, Wilderness Usawa Serengeti follows the year-round migration. Various sites at key migration locations across the national park allow the camp to move quickly and at short notice, always keeping close to the herds, to the action. Anticipating the herd movements, two camps will be set up as close to the migration as possible at any given time. Set away from the high-density tourist areas, the exquisite design and mindful décor of the tented camp add a
thought-provoking aspect to guests' very remote and private East African experience.
