Do I need to worry about dangerous animals on safari?

Although Africa is home to a variety of potentially dangerous species, including scorpions, snakes, spiders, and insects, very few visitors suffer from direct harm. The luxury camps and lodges we stay in provide rooms that are resistant to insects (especially mosquitoes). Walking shoes with closed-toes, socks, and long pants are essentials when you're out on a walk. Be sure to always follow the directions of your guide.
